One advantage of having friends who were kickass magical healers was that Rose wasn't feeling any side effects from being shot the previous week. The wood and vervain combination didn't affect her the way they did Caroline and her friends and even if they had, Adrian and Lissa had healed it all. Once the drugs the doctors had given her after Regina brought her in wore off, she really was good as new. She had a few minor cuts and bruises from the fight with Garrett and the ones who wanted to torture him to death slowly that she refused to let her friends touch. Those marks were fading get now and would heal easily on their own. There was a faint remnant of a bruise on her cheek from where she'd taken a punch, but for the most part Rose was fine now. She was also glad the whole ordeal was behind them. Rose wasn't stupid enough to think life would be easy in this place, but she hoped for some semblance of normalcy before the next disaster hit. That wasn't too much to ask for, right? Angeline and Trey being gone would mean she wasn't going to get a lot of sleep in the coming days, weeks, however long it took for another guardian to show up here, but she hoped that would be the least of her worries, at least for a little while. It was the first week of school and Rose was on campus with Lissa and Christian. She'd left the lovebirds to their privacy, staying close enough to keep an eye on them, but far enough away that she wouldn't feel like such a third wheel. That meant doing that whole seeing without seeing thing a lot, but she'd haf plants of practice in blocking out their romantic interludes while she guarded Lissa. Sometimes she missed their psychic bond, but this was definitely not one of those moments. Ever alert for any possible danger, Rose stood at the counter and waited for her turn before ordering a chai tea. She couldn't stand coffee, unlike most guardians who couldn't get enough of the stuff, but she liked the flavor of the tea and it would do a lot to warm her in the chilly won't weather when the threesome ventured outside again. A few moments later, with her tea in hand, she turned to find a spot at a nearby table where she could discreetly keep an eye on the two Moroi. The one she wanted wasnt empty, but Rose wasn't shy by any means and that one provided the best vantage point, so she walked up to it anyway, flashing her most charming smile at the guy who was sitting there. Grantaire, she thought his name was. She'd seen him around, but they weren't exactly close buddies. "Hey, Grantaire, right? Do you mind if I join you?" |
