WHO: Jack, Johanna and anyone else that has reason to be there
WHEN: Tuesday Evening
WHERE: Sanctuary Johanna's Place
WHAT: Jack Brings Ice Cream
RATING: Who knows
STATUS: Ongoing

Jack stands at the door to the Sanctuary apartments a brown paper bag clutched in one hand not really sure what the evening will bring but knowing that this mysterious woman sounded like she was in need of a friend not that she'd admit it. Jack didn't know her well but that didn't really seem to matter much around here apparently everyone knew him and could look up his life history and probably even some of his future at a moments notice, it would take some getting used to but he had a reputation to live up to and tonight sounded like it would be a challenge.

He reached out to ring the bell but paused to double checked his bag. Three flavors of Ice Cream were a minimum for a lady he didn't know, Mint Fudge always good because the strong flavors can be very sensual, Choc Chip Cookie Dough always a classic if someone is feeling low and a new one on him Peanut butter World just because it sounded different and he got the feeling that tonight he was meeting someone that was determined to be a bit different. To compliment the Ice Cream was a large bottle of Vodka with a raspberry twist if this girl really was being treated with morphine it would get her drunk quick enough but Jack knew well enough that Vodka would have far less long term impact that some other choice beverages and was good for relaxing. He had debated champagne but this just didn't feel like a celebration evening more a drown your sorrows kinda scene, he could be wrong, he'd adapt, either way he knew it would be a fun and likely short evening, heck there was always the chance she would just grab the bag and slam the door in his face, with her voice she sounded cold enough to do it.

He reached out again and pressed the doorbell firmly, holding it long enough the he was sure it had sounded but not so long that it would be irritating. He readied his apparently famous grin and waited.

So, maybe inviting strangers to the apartment wasn't her brightest idea ever. Katniss would be freaking out if she knew. Then again, most things had the Girl on Fire freaking out, and truth be told Johanna was in need of the company; 'alone with her thoughts' wasn't a good place to be, not with her recent history. Besides, there was still the chance this was all some sort of fever-dream, in which case it made sense to make it as pleasant a hallucination as possible before reality sank its claws back in.

Not that this hospitality thing extended to dressing up; pyjamas were her attire of choice. The bauble had restored much of her health, so she was no longer looking like a shaved, half-drowned rat covered in cuts and burns, but the bags under her eyes and sour, slightly sickly funk hanging around her suggested it wasn't all peaches and cream either. More than once she'd woken the others with nightmares, and as for the thought of showering... that was going to take some time to steel herself to face.

So when the door opened the Johanna Mason Jack was confronted with was hardly at her best; pale, tired and grimy, in faded joggers and an oversized tank-top, her hair scraped back in a pony tail, an axe slung over her shoulders. Still, her trademark grin was as wicked as ever.

"What's the password?"

Jacks Grin instinctively widens as the door swings open, not really sure what to expect it still came as a bit of a surprise to be confronted with the unkept Johanna wielding an Axe.

"Inebriation washed down with Ice Cream"

Nodding towards the Axe

"If you're going to hit me with that thing I'd ask that I put down this bottle and get to take off the coat first, I don't want to waste good Vodka and its hard to find quality coats like this around cleaning my blood out of it is such a chore"

The Johanna in front of him wasn't the dark cold soul he had been dreading it was the sight of someone who was wounded, exhausted and really having a bad time of it, this he could work with.

"Right answer." Stepping aside to let him enter she set the axe down (glad, in truth, to be rid of the weight of it; tomorrow, she told herself, tomorrow she'd start training again. It wasn't good to get so weak, to lose her edge). "You had me at inebriation."

Leaning back against the doorframe Johanna ran a sceptical eye over him, one eyebrow quirking. "... so, what exactly are you Captain of, anyway?"

Jack moves inside the apartment twisting to make sure he moves slightly through Johanna's personal space as he enters, not lingering long enough to be creepy but just enough to make sure she senses his nearness.

"I'm Captain of many things, It was my rank as a Time Agent, I had my own ship which made me a Captain and it was my Rank in the U.S. Air Force during World War two. Mostly I keep it because the title suits me don't you think?"

With that Jack tilts his head and the light reflection somehow dances of his bright white teeth and shimmers from his eye as he smiles.

Without pausing for a response he proceeds inside walking straight on into the kitchen area.

She tensed involuntarily as he passed close to her, her gaze shifting from tauntingly-sceptical to, briefly, more critically-assessing - he had both height and bulk on her, and (she guessed) some degree of military training, but she'd taken down career tributes in her time so...

And then he moved into the kitchen, and she relaxed slightly. This was, at least, a game she was familiar with - one all the rage in the Capitol; flirt and counter-flirt, charming grin and coy response. A dance with steps she could follow, even if they left her feeling grimy.

"I wouldn't know. None of that means anything where I'm from." Step 1: play the innocent. Not a step she could get away with in the Capitol, not with her reputation, but he presumably didn't know any of that. So big eyes, coy downglance, childish biting of her little finger it was, then. "What's a Time Agent?"

Putting the bag on the counter Jack almost does a double take at the mind numbingly obvious opening questions. In the blink of an eye he debated what it meant, was she really playing the innocent? Flashing her a glance he noticed her biting her finger, oh she is totally trying to play me, how quaint. That is so not the ice cold opening he got over the com channel.

He saw that this could go two ways, he could dance the dance and probably end up having a fun evening, but he knew that was a little too obvious and a little too dirty, the other option he could try and break through the act and though less immediate fun will be more what this girl needs in the long run.

"A little obvious I'm afraid"

A brief pause in his speech, a little longer than necessary to emphasize the split meaning of the sentence but not long enough to break the flow, he disguised it by rummaging through the kitchen.

"Time agents are like the police of time travel, frightfully dull, and far too stuck up on rules. It didn't suit"

Producing two spoons and a couple of tall glasses jack cracked open the bottle. With the skill that comes from many years of seasoned drinking he poured an almost exact double shot into each glass.

Jack cocked his head into the expected coy smile he decided to see if he could get a bit more information on this hot and cold lady.

"I have three very burning questions for you, but I'll start with, Ice?"

She nodded - "Lime, if you've got it." - stepping into the kitchen and hopping up on the counter, her legs swinging as she regarded him, head tilted sidelong.

"Time-travel, huh? Sounds anything but dull to me... Bet you've got some great stories."

"Might have known you'd be one for zest!"

Jack reaches into a pocket pulls out a fresh Lime, rinses it and looks around for a knife and chopping board.

"Well it wasn't all Doughnuts and coffee, but it created a lot of gaps in my mind, they stole my memories, you clean up a messy case and they wipe the details from your mind to eliminate all trace of whatever it was you were trying to prevent, in the interest of preserving the timeline, in some cases necessary but it got to me after a while, I started to forget too much. That said I can probably manage a story or two if you play your cards right"

Dropping the slice of lime into the glass then adding the ice jack holds out the drink to Johanna intending to playfully hold onto it as she tries to take it and moving into the way of where Johanna is swinging her leg so that she either has to stop swinging one of her legs or is forced to make contact.

"I'm betting you have some stories from that capitol of yours too."

She laughed, and winked playfully - "Well, that'd be telling" - pressing her feet back against the counter as she leant forwards to take the drink, her expression shifting to an equally-playful pout as he didn't relinquish his hold.

"... you come over here just to taunt me, Captain? Because that's just mean"

Jack uses the glass to pull her forwards and as she starts to lean closer he releases the glass into her grip and leans closer himself, tempting to see if her forward motion will continue on its own.

"I would only be mean if you are prepared to ask really nicely, but if you aren't going to tell me anything then what else do you have in mind for those lips of yours?"

"I have a few ideas..."

Glass secured she grinned victoriously and pulled back upright, nestling the glass close to her chest and fishing out an icecube with her fingers, crunching it as she spoke.

"Anyway, I thought you were supposed to be distracting me, not the other way a- - ooh, raspberry. Yum - the other way around. So I reckon you're up first, far as stories are concerned."

Jack lifts his own glass and takes a sip.

"So I could tell you the story of the first time I met the Doctor, that's full of intrigue, mystery, flirting and heroism, its the point I renounced my roguish ways and became a hero."

Jack seems to somehow drift in closer, He didn't so much as actively step in as just suddenly and naturally seemed to have gotten closer, gently pushing forwards pinning Johanna's legs against the counter with the lightest amount of pressure, not forcing himself into her not pushing too hard just gradually pressing her personal space, but being careful to keep his arms and torso from leaning over her.

"So are you going to offer me a chair or do you want me to stand here all night."

Its clear this is an opt out to push Jack away if she chooses while she decides Jack continues

"If you prefer I could tell a different tale, what are you in the mood for?"
