December in Kansas didnt scream earthquakes. It hadn't done a ridiculous amount of damage but it had made somewhat of a mess, and there were still tremors. Ward picked up what he could. Made sure the place wouldn't burn down or anything, and then, as they usually did, his thoughts turned to Skye. She could have been hurt. She could have been unlucky during the whole mess and he couldn't let that happen. He couldn't have her hurt again. He'd texted soon after the quake to no answer. He'd called, with no answer. And yeah, she could have been ignoring him, but after the second voicemail asking just for confirmation she was okay, he was worried enough that he didn't care if she was angry. He had to know she was okay. So now, he'd go over there, Fitz and Simmons could deal with it if they were there, he had to know she was okay.
The tremors kept coming. More and more as he got closer to the apartment and it was about a block away when Ward paused. ...Quake. Tremors...the damn wishes. She'd wished...Of course she had.
He sped up. The building itself was fine, she'd kept enough of herself to ensure that, but closer to their apartment he could feel it. Skye rememebred who she was, and with that, came the power. And the guilt.
Pushing open the door, he saw her, surrounded by debris, beautiful in spite of it all, but that look in her eyes, she was scared, hurt, guilt ridden.
"Skye...Skye look at me." he said softly, edging closer to the debris. "Can you let me in?"
