She wasn't going anywhere. Just as Sam had thought. What with his back being turned to her, he took the opportunity to smile into his drink. Too easy. "It really isn't all that hard to make me happy, Ruby." Sam set his drink onto the bar and looked over at her. "A little blood. Some sex." He reached forward and pinched at her nose. "Keeping your nose clean." He smiled again, taking up the drink that she offered. He was experimenting with all kinds of drinks tonight, which was probably a bad thing on his part. Sam had learned to hold a bit more alcohol after his drunken streak during the summer, but certain drinks still did quite the number on him. That Red Devil in particular was turning out to be one of them. "I love you, Ruby, but I'm not gonna get caught up in someone who's going to be a pain in my ass all the time. You need to get it together."
He took a sip of her daiquiri, then handed it back to her. "I came back for you, Ruby. I could have left you in that trap. Could've just..." He swept a hand in the air. "Took off. You should keep that in mind." Sam picked his drink up once more, drinking some of it down to wash away the taste of her daiquiri. It was all right. But he found he preferred his drink a bit more.
Sam looked out across the crowd, watching as some of the people moved to and from the dance floor. He was just about to turn back to Ruby and suggest that they find somewhere a bit more private to play in, but the sounds of a struggle kept him from doing so. A man was being dragged from the crowd, struggling against the grip of the security guards that were hauling him forward. Intrigued, Sam stepped away from the bar a little, barely taking in the man's shouts about 'aliens' and 'shiny rocks.' Sam looked back at Ruby, grinning heavily. "Check out the nutjob."
