Elena had always been wary of doppelgangers. She thought it was probably built into her to be, after all the problems she'd had with Katherine and Amara back home. Still, she knew what it was like to find out there were other people who looked identical to you. Although it felt like a lifetime ago, it hadn't been very long since she'd learned she was a doppelganger. She remembered the first time she'd come face to face with Katherine. She wouldn't wish that kind of experience on anyone. So if she could help this latest face twin, Alicia, settle in, she would.
Elena had quickly packed a bag with a selection of clothes following her conversation with Alicia on the network. She didn't know what style the other girl favoured but, right now, she guessed she wasn't in much of a position to be picky. Lucky, Elena had compelled herself almost a whole new wardrobe recently, between her shopping trips with Caroline and Bonnie then the one with Felix. She had a whole pile of things she didn't really need any more, from jeans and t-shirts to jackets and shoes. She had packed what she thought would be most practical, whilst still being stylish, then thrown it into the passenger seat of Damon's car before heading off to the address Alicia had given her.
It had taken her a little over ten minutes to get across town. Upon arriving, she'd pulled the sky-blue Camaro up in the apartment's parking lot before heading out towards the entrance, the bag of clothes slung over her shoulder.
Elena recognised Alicia immediately - how could she not? It was like peering into a mirror, even though the reflection had a mind and actions of its own. Still, the thing that struck her above everything else was the accent. "You're British?" Elena asked, sounding a little taken aback. It was strange to hear a British accent coming out of a mouth that looked exactly like hers.
