Klaus couldn't help but be a little amused by that, wanting to give into her darker desires to prevent being like Damon. "He's not the Salvatore you need to worry about becoming. Damon, difficult as he is to deal with much of the time is very aware of the man he is and the things he's willing to do. Stefan is the one lying to himself. Holding back a barely restrained madness, a tide of darkness even I was a little impressed by back in the day. I mean, he did it in a mess of ripper binge so there's not really any effort or skill involved but, you know, he's spent so long being kept under thumb by Alexia now that its mostly ireelevent. Its not horrible to want the dark parts of life, or to act on them. What's terrible is to lose yourself to them. And that I will never allow you to do.
Caroline needed to work out who she was, stop comparing herself to Damon, to Stefan, even to himself.
"You'll find your way, find who you are, and I will be right there with you as you discover all of it." Meanwhile he'd find someone for her to share with him. There were a few choices but his eyes fell on a woman, mid thirties maybe, instrument case, who knew of what kind. He knew the type, she would sit here for hours, listening, playing. She'd be with people, maybe a band, but the music was why she was here, people didn't interest her.
A little compulsion though and she'd find him really very interesting.
"There, by the stage. That one. Can you work out why?"
