Who: Emma Swan and Rumplestiltskin (and baby Aislinn because of baby reasons!)
What: Their people are not in good places and two powerful magic users don't handle things so well?
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: The Dark Castle
Warnings: Psh, no idea

Emma tired of the television. Somehow hiatus season didn't seem to be quite the same when ones channels full of reruns had instead become a showing of the people missing from their lives. At first, she'd been entranced. And then, it just grew worse and worse. Watching the people she cared about being tormented? Sure, Lois and Kon seemed fine in their little Hobbit filled food and drink stupors. And Clark, though obviously grumpy, was at least safe.

But Graham was a werewolf, of all things, and being stalked by the most powerful evil of that world. Loki and Neal weren't faring much better, and Belle... She shuddered, thinking of Pan and how very close he was to her friend. Though they hadn't seen his physical presence yet, it still terrified her.

So, without being asked, she'd packed up Henry and the two toddlers and had unceremoniously delivered the remainder of her family to Rumplestiltskin's doorstep. He likely wasn't thrilled with the idea but he had the sense not to turn her away. Because, after all, they were really all each other had left.

Balancing two babies was proving a bit more difficult than Emma had originally planned, but someone had to take care of Aiden, and so she was managing. While the younger toddler slept, Emma stopped her daughter from getting into absolutely everything. It seemed the tiny princess knew she was meant for royal life and was enjoying castle living. Which disturbed Emma more than pleased her. Still, she followed the baby girl as she wandered into the sitting area where a television had been set up, despite the fact that electricity and television shouldn't even have existed for them.

And, to her surprise, her son's grandfather sat, currently watching his son run from some horrible evil or another. God, she'd given up trying to guess what each was. She'd decided not to see the movie when it turned out its two stars hated her. She caught herself standing, staring at the TV. But Aislinn had other ideas. She toddled her way over to her not-quite-grandfather and tapped on his knee, looking up at him imploringly. "Wumple?" she inquired, wondering what could possibly be more fascinating than her.

It wasn't until Emma heard the baby's voice that she snapped out of her daze. "Sorry," she murmured, making her way further into the room and coming to his side. As long as she'd known him, as much as she knew about him, she still found the man rather intimidating. Even if he was, technically, family.

12 days. It had been 12 days since Rumpelstiltskin had woken up and found Belle gone from their bed. 12 days since a locator spell had shown that his son was also missing from Lawrence. And he had so nearly torn apart the Dark Castle in a rage, in fact there were rooms now sealed away to hide the destruction he had brought down on the furniture. It was only the knowledge that many others were also missing, and the belief many seemed to have that this was the actions of the Seal and thus would end soon, that had calmed him enough to focus on those still in Lawrence. Namely his grandson, and Henry's mother and sister, who were, in their way, also family to Rumpelstiltskin.

But when the television had started showing those images, he had so very nearly lost his mind all over again. For hours he sat, grimly staring at the screen, flipping between the two channels. Belle, trapped in Neverland, with that demon. Bae, tormented by horrors in a place designed so very much to kill.

He would destroy everything that had hurt his family. He would summon every ounce of Dark Magic he possessed, take on heaven and hell, and make the world burn if he had to, if that was what it took, he would...

Apparently he would be tapped on the knee by a toddler.

Had anyone else touched him, he would have reacted with fury, darkness. But that little voice, and those big eyes looking up at him. The Dark One found himself melting a little bit.

"Quite alright," his tone was quiet as he directed his response to Emma as she approached, and he bent down, helping Aislinn up onto his lap, since she seemed so determined to capture his attention so utterly. Though he did hesitate. The images on the screen were not suitable for a child, and yet he could not quite bring himself to be the one to turn them off.

"Is there anything I can get for you?" It didn't hurt to be polite, or so he suspected.

Emma had held her breath while watching her daughter approach the man. The two people in the world who could usually bring him back from the brink of his anger were missing, in worlds that were more than a bit terrifying. But he surprised her, scooping Aislinn up and placing her in his lap. The baby smiled contentedly, as she usually did when she got what she wanted. Even more to Emma's surprise, her little girl nuzzled back into the Dark One's chest, her thumb automatically going towards her mouth. She had a feeling it was because the baby missed Graham as much as Emma did, perhaps more. At least Emma knew where he'd gone, what had happened to him. She might be concerned for his welfare, but she understood. The only thing she could say to Aislinn when she asked where daddy was was that he'd gone on a trip.

It wasn't enough. Her baby clearly craved a male presence and she'd found one who didn't scare her the way he did most. Emma couldn't help but wonder the reason for it. Maybe Aislinn was just that good at reading people. Or maybe it had everything to do with the fact that in so many ways, she'd already dealt with more levels of fear than a child her age ever should.

As he didn't seem to be pushing either of them away, Emma perched carefully in a nearby chair, ready to leave at the first sign of being asked to. "No," she said quietly, her eyes drifting towards the screen. "Thank you. For letting us come by." Though now, seeing the picture the pair made, she suspected he'd needed the company just as much as she had. Not that she'd admit it. They were there for Henry. Yeah. That was it.
