He didn't want Henrik to stay with Rebekah. For so many reasons. She'd poison the boy against him. Stefan would decide Henrik was a good way to get at him. Rebekah was still starving herself of blood and could snap and hurt him without thinking. So many reasons added up to worry him. But ultimately he wouldn't keep Henrik from the rest of his family. There was one sibling that didn't resent him. He found he liked that. "I won't try to stop you seeing them. Or having a room there. Just...be aware, I'm worried and I think you know why. If you need us to come and get you we will do so. If you feel unsafe at any point."
He'd probably be fine. Stefan didn't want to lose Rebekah. Maybe he wouldn't cross that line. And maybe his sister would get well again.
"You have a right to see your family. They've missed you all these centuries as much as I have. But I'm glad you want to stay here. Having you around. It reminds me of before. And I'm not saying it was perfect. Nothing ever was with Mikael around. But we were a family then weren't we, all of us? I worry sometimes they forget that. I was only ever trying to protect them all Henrik. Keep them safe. I couldn't keep you safe."
He hadn't meant for that to come out but it was there now. And there was not a thing he could do about it. He shook his head.
"When Caroline and I have a house you will have your room there too. You could do different things, instead of just a room at Rebekah's you can plan for two. Different designs. It'd be good, wouldn't it."
