Melissa knew that she probably had the fuel behind a much more serious grounding, but the thing was...these kids had already been through so much. Even before the supernatural stuff started to invade their lives, Scott and Stiles in particular had been forced to deal with more than Melissa had ever felt was fair to them. There were times when she had to be hard on them, but this didn't feel like one of those times to her.
They needed a bit of a break along with their stability. That was what it boiled down to. Stability for these two boys was important. Weird as being here was, she was glad that she was here with them because she felt like they needed her.
And even if Stiles wasn't technically her's she cared about him just as much as she did about Scott.
"I appreciate the apology. And I get it some. I'll work on the forgiving part, though." Melissa joked, winking at him as a visual cue that she was only joking. She had already forgiven him, the grounding wasn't personal. Giving a light gesture Melissa figured that was good enough. "You're free to go enjoy your grounding now, kiddo."
