He'd never know what it took for her to ask him to meet her, and more so to meet her here, of all places. Yes, they'd shared this room so many times before. But it meant more to her than just that. What he didn't know, what he couldn't possibly begin to understand, was the significance this room had held for her. Had it really only been two years and some? Since this man, with this face, had brought her here to ask her to marry him?
So much had changed. So many times her life had spiraled out of her control and every single time, she'd had to pick herself back up. Her fingers traced the wood of the door lovingly before she gave it a gentle push. This had to happen. They had to finally face this, what had been lingering since she'd first seen his face on the boards and shut herself down. Since that moment that Guy had approached her about his arrival. This was a talk that had been a long time coming. In the past, she'd always been honest and open with him. Except about one thing, and apparently it took seeing him for the last time or being about to die or, it seemed, being drunk for her to say it.
Because so help her, she still loved him. And it was time he knew, for better or for worse. Even if she was a horrible person for loving a man who wasn't the one she'd been sharing her life with mere weeks before.
Walking into the room, her breath caught involuntarily and Rose paused, breathing it in. She'd been here several times since the first him had discovered it. Had even brought the Ninth Doctor here to tell him how her life had changed since his regeneration. It still sent her reeling back in time no matter what.
Then her eyes drifted and finally caught the big brown eyes of the man she'd come to see. And Rose couldn't help it. Despite the nerves, despite the cold hand wrapped around her heart... She smiled.
"Hi," was all she offered, but her eyes were wide and bright. She didn't run to him like she used to on that catwalk, though. She took her time, circling the room, running her hands adoringly over bits of the TARDIS taken in its change to Eleven's console room.
