Klaus wasn't sure about becoming legally some kind of guardian to Henrik. It was up to the boy ultimately but he'd never been parental, and besides, if something wanted to hurt him it would go through Henrik and Caroline, and Caroline could fight back a lot more. And there she was talking about books and charts and everything besides. He wasn't going to force her into that life when she was still so young.
"I said I'd show you the world Caroline, I said I'd show you everything you deserved to see and that didn't include being a full time mother so young. You shouldn't have to look for books and make charts. None of it. Oh we'll be there, whenever he needs us but we can't be the only ones he turns to. The others will want their say, and whatever goes on between us, they are just as much his siblings as I am. And I won't be the reason he spends less time with them."
It was going to be complicated, even with Caroline overthinking things again. But they'd figure something out, for his sake. They had to, he deserved that from all of them.
