“I think he’ll be able to do school once he’s learned more about here and everything.” She understood the need for Henrik to get as normal a life as possible. It was something none of them would ever really get, even if they were able to act normal and play normal for a while, they weren’t normal. That had been something Caroline had a hard time realizing, a hard time accepting as well, but being in Lawrence had showed her that more than anything else.
She was a vampire, she’d always be a vampire, and that meant there were a lot of aspects to her life that would never be anywhere close to normal. She was still dealing with it in some ways but she’d accepted it and was trying to thrive in the parts of her that weren’t normal. Like actually feeding from others, which was still something she was coming to grips with being okay to do. It was the whole non-vampires not really ever being able to understand that and any comparisons to food she could make would never be adequate.
“School. Vaccinations. I am buying a book on how to raise kids because I dunno about you but I’m at a complete loss on it. And I’m getting you a copy and I am going to make lists and charts and whatever else is needed so we have actual knowledge on what to even do here.” She already had one going through her head.
“You probably need to get him guardianship papers. Especially because we never know who might end up here and if Mikael or Esther come…” Well they’d probably have more to worry about than the two trying to take Henrik but still! “Or whoever is going to be his guardian if you want one of your siblings to do it. Or he does. I have no idea.”
