“I think the difference is that your father was never a good man to you guys when he was human, right?” At least that’s what she had taken away from what any of them had ever told her. “He was never good to you. And becoming a vampire amplifies everything and that lack of love for you kind of blossomed into some really intense hatred. As for your mom...well. She’s got no excuses for anything that she did. You guys did awful, awful things, but she was still your mom. She should have loved you. But with Henrik, he does love you. So I think it’ll be different. And I hardly think you’re a saint.”
She knew he had done better in Lawrence, that he’d shown mercy to quite a lot of people from home and tempered himself in many ways, but no he wasn’t a saint. Didn’t stop her from loving him though. “I think part of it all is that he’s 10 and still reeling a bit from the whole he knows he died thing and is in this place which is so vastly different from what he does know. Plus being a vampire stuck at looking 10 forever would suck. It kinda sucks at 17 but at least I can pull off a little older if I try.”
But okay, they could focus on getting Henrik better if that would help. “I’ve got the list Dr. Tam gave me. We’ve already got some of the things but I’ll give it to you and you can get the rest. I just want to watch him and make sure he doesn’t get any complications because that could happen.” And would suck.
“Should we bring him back to the other house? He has an actual room there. Not that here isn’t comfortable.” It just didn’t feel like home to her. “I don’t know. Are the M’s I see all over the place for Marcel or for Mikaelson?” Because she could tell that the place was old but she had no clue how old.
