Of course Allison had noticed Scott wasn’t himself. She hadn’t expected him to be after all he’d seen and been through. She’d made the assumption that a lot of it was him having to see her die again and in such a similar way to the first time, so what she’d been doing in an attempt to help was try to be near him every moment she could. Apparently it hadn’t been very effective.
“Hey,” She smiled, speaking in a soft voice. Tilting her head just slightly she leaned in to sneak a kiss, her lips grazing the corner of his mouth lightly. Allison reached over and took Scott’s hand in her own and gave it a gentle squeeze. Even if he seemed distant, she was grateful for the moments they spent together.
“Scott?” She looked at him carefully. “Are you okay?” It went unsaid, but this wasn’t a casual inquiry on how he was doing. She really wanted to know if he really was okay. Allison wanted an honest answer, not simple small talk. Part of her had been afraid to ask, afraid that she’d stir up negative emotions, but she had to know because if he wasn’t actually okay she was determined to help him be.
