Elena nibbled at her lip. It was strangely difficult to hear Rose talk about Trevor. She knew how devastated she had been when Damon had died and she had only known him for three years. They felt like the three longest years of her life, so she couldn't even imagine what it must be like after losing someone you'd known for centuries. She felt guilty, too. She knew she hadn't asked to be kidnapped by Rose and Trevor, but it was still because of her that he'd died. She hadn't even liked him at the time, but she liked Rose and she felt such sorrow for her. It was because of her that she'd lost Trevor and now it was because of her that she'd lost Damon too. She wished she could say something to make it better, but she knew she couldn't.
"Have you thought that he might turn up here?" Elena asked, cupping her mug tightly in between her hands. "I mean, it's possible, right? With the seal and everything?"
