Things hadn't been easy the past few months since Gwen's death. Peter had played that moment over and over in his head, how things could have been just a little different and maybe she could have survived. If he had been just a little quicker to react. If he had just...kept her away from the danger in the first place. He'd tried, God, he'd tried so many times but it never lasted because he loved her and staying away from her was so damn hard. Well, maybe he should have tried a little harder. She would've been in England, at Oxford by now. But none of that would happen now. He listened to the speech Gwen had made at graduation and it struck something in him. The city still needed him. He still had a sense of pride in protecting people, buried somewhere underneath all the pain and suffering. Gwen...her speech...it inspired him. And she had become the hope she talked about. She was his hope.
Peter was in the middle of the fight, ranting rather sarcastically at Sytevich in the Rhino armor suit when in a snap, everything changed, the NYC structures his web had been connected to were suddenly gone and he landed hard on the ground. He was disoriented for a moment before he jumped to his feet, still in his spider suit. "What the hell just happened?" he muttered to himself, shaking his head as he glanced around.
Well, no answers would be received just standing around, would they? But as he started wandering through the city, it all came back to him. Lawrence... it had been ages ago now, hand't it? But he remembered it as he made his way to the library. He had to get caught up on current events. Where they were in this Apocalypse business, what big bad they may be facing. Because there was always somethingg oing on in Lawrence.
