Hal couldn't help but be amused. They were using the girl as bait and he knew on some level he should care more about that. Leo would want him to care about that. Tom, Alex, Annie. But they weren't here, not any of them. Tom didn't need to know and Alex, well she'd chalk it up to another reason her hypocrite friends were worth more than him.
He hadn't been able to hear what Damon did, not anymore and it bothered him more than he tried to let on. He hated this, hated being pointless.
"Right, yes, you can hear that can't you. If you're ready then we should follow."
He finished his whiskey in one shot, still resenting its effects on him and stood up, still keeping the guise of nonchalance. He was able to be helpful, somehow. He'd find a way to make this work. How, he wasn't sure yet.
