Kol was right, and wow, was it hard to even think that thought, but it was true: Kol was right. Any concerns Elijah had concerning his brother Klaus, he needed to address them head on with his brother and find out where the stood.
Ever since being turned back into a child, curtsey of the Seal, Elijah’s long buried guilt had been brought back ten fold. He remembered how he had failed them as children, but most of all, he had failed Klaus. He should have stood in the way of the beatings, should have had Mikael strike him down before he had the chance to even get to his younger brother, but…he had always been afraid of Mikael. It was no excuse. That fear continued after they were turned into vampires, when Mikael made him help his parents bind his werewolf side down. That is what he felt guilty about most of all and it was something that Klaus seemed to rub in Elijah’s face whenever possible.
But regardless, Elijah loved his brother. The sweet boy he once knew, the kind, eager and energetic little boy that wanted to learn to shoot arrows, whom he taught to climb trees—that boy was dead, but a man who did everything he could to protect his family (sometimes at the annoyance of said family) stood in his place, and Elijah loved him. He just needed to hear….to hear some words of kindness. Something from his brother that allowed him to know where he stood with his brother.
Walking through their long house, he entered his brother’s study where he conducted his painting. Not surprising, Klaus was working on another art piece. His work really was beautiful. It was a talent never had the patience to pick up or learn. Much like carving. It was a talent that Niklaus only seemed to posses.
“Quite the bachelor party,” Elijah observed as he came up beside his brother to look at the piece of art. “Though I do believe the icing on the cake was the practical joke you’ve decided to play on Damon. Remind me to NOT give you all control of my drinks again,” he said with a small smirk.
