She kept her arms around him. It was amazing how much she had missed being close to him. To be so close to someone only to have the Seal pull them away from you... It was torture. Allison wasn’t going to let go so quickly. Having him close soothed all of the pain she’d felt while he was away.
“It’s real.” She nodded, speaking in a firm tone. If it was just a dream she knew she’d wake up crying. Allison didn’t doubt that fate could be so cruel. She’d died, after all. That wasn’t the worst twist of fate, though. The worst was losing Scott. She tried not to think of it, instead focusing on having Scott in her arms. “I know it has to be real.”
Finally she let him loose, pulling back just slightly only to get a good look at him. She was still crying, but now at least she could manage a smile. It really was him.
