As he heard her cries for help, the anger rose within him. No one hurt his Little Momma, his Kenzi. He rushed down the stairs, only to be confronted by the sight of Massimo pinning Kenzi to the floor, sword in hand. Hale was furious, spinning him around and grabbing him by the throat. “I hope you had a good life, druid.” He growled, before punching him, and throwing him across the room.
He’d never been this angry, before. He loved Kenzi with his entire being, and no one was allowed to hurt her. He was acting on instinct now, the instinct to protect those he loved. He kicked the druid as he lay there on the ground, but knew he had to finish it, however dangerous it was to him, it was worth it to protect her.
He found the correct pitch, and aimed it at Massimo. Except, Massimo was no longer there. And neither was Kenzi. He was no longer in the house, but outside. There was grass beneath his feet. Where the hell was he? And where was Kenzi? "Kenzi? Are you ok, Little Momma? Where are you?"
