Marcel didn't like not being in control, he wasn't used to it. Not since he took the city. And yet, ever since he'd arrived in Lawrence he'd been struggling to find some control. Wishing for the compound had helped. Because living with the Mikaelson's again had felt like a step back.
And then Davina had arrived. He'd been so happy to see her appear on the boards. But, she'd been so angry with him, and then when she told him that he'd let them finish the Harvest, it felt like he'd been kicked in the stomach. He wished he could change what was going to happen. But, apparently it didn't work like that. So, all he could do was try and rebuild bridges and make amends for something he hadn't done yet. He hoped that today was a good first step towards that.
As she spoke, he turned to look at her and smiled. "I don't blame you, Davina. It sounds like you went through a lot. It's only understandable that you're angry." He wish he knew why he was going to let her die. He loved the little witch like a daughter, and would do anything to protect her.
