Who: The Doctor What: Prodding the Wish Thingy, and wishing When: Tonight Where: The TARDIS Warnings: None
The Doctor had been poking, prodding and scanning the thing for days now. And he was still no closer to working out how it worked. It was frustrating. He had managed to find the energy signature it gave off, and measure the fluctuations. But, well there hadn't really been any. Not any major ones anyway. Every so often, when he picked it up, it pulsed, and his instruments picked up a slight fluctuation in it's frequency. But, none of the information he had collated, actually showed him how it worked.
The Doctor leaned back in one of the console chairs, studying the orb as it hovered near by. It was mostly the same colour as his TARDIS, but occasionally there was a flash of a slightly lighter colour. Frowning, he plucked it from the air. Rose had made her wish, and it had seemed to be successful. And apparently it was going to run out tomorrow. So, he figured he should probably use it. But, what could he wish for. He had his TARDIS, and he couldn't wish for any more of his companions. Apparently that didn't work.
"That's it!" he exclaimed, jumping to his feet. Then he turned to the console and pressed a few buttons, making sure that she was scanning the orb for him. "I wish, that K9 was here." The orb pulsed once, before disappearing. Frowning, the Doctor looked down to where he'd thought K9 would appear. But he wasn't there. "Well, that could have gone better." he said to himself. And then he heard a voice behind him. "What could have gone better, Master?"
Grinning, The Doctor spun around, and fell to his knees next to his dog. "K9! It's good to see you!" he declared, throwing his arms around the robot dogs neck.
