Who: Robin and Marian Locksley
What: A wish and a tiny presence
When: Early Saturday morning
Where: Chez Locksley...then actual Locksley!
Warnings: A for Adorable
After she'd cleared the idea with Much and Rogue, and had gotten a few ideas how to alter the wish to fit their new, modern lifestyles, Marian knew she was ready. And she also knew that she wouldn't need to clear it with Robin. First of all, it was a surprise for her husband. Secondly, no one loved that village like he had. The manor would only be a hint of what they'd loved, but it would be something. She'd always pictured herself as Lady Locksley, running the manor while her husband did business at the castle. Now, in some ways, she truly could. They'd possibly lose a bit of the things they'd worked hard for in the house, but they'd make up for it.
Though she did get the gut feeling that he'd hate it and hate her for doing it. But that passed easily enough.
Early that morning, she woke and nestled into her husband's side. He'd likely sleep for half an hour more or so. Absently, she began rubbing her stomach where she knew her son or daughter was up and active. Recently, she'd begun feeling the movements of the tiny child making themselves known. It was a miraculous feeling and terrifying at the same time. It meant there was no turning back, that they would definitely be parents soon enough. But more than anything, she enjoyed it.
Rolling over, she reached for the little orb, glowing in that brilliant shade of blue that matched Robin's eyes exactly. She hesitated, looking sideways at her husband. "I wish for our house to look the same on the outside and look like Locksley Manor as Robin left it on the inside, only now with electricity and modern plumbing and the kitchen we had before." She closed her eyes hesitantly, wincing. She fully expected to open them again and see the orb still sitting there, taunting her. It was a lot she was asking in one wish, but she had to try.
But it had disappeared and in its place... The sight made her catch her breath. It had been so long since she'd seen the Manor, longer still since she'd seen it under actual Locksley rule. The room they were now residing in wasn't specifically familiar to her, but she had a feeling it had once been Robin's father's.
A slow smile crossed her face and she slipped out of bed into what would have once been their bathroom, grateful to find it was still there. She'd check on the kitchen later. Now, though, she eased herself back to the mattress and shifted closer to Robin, leaning to give him a light kiss. "Good morning, handsome," she offered. Ordinarily, she'd never have woken him. But this? This was worth it.
