Where: Gavroche's new and comfy room at the Inn

He had asked Eponine if he could explain the full nature of their relationship to Gavroche one on one. It wasn't as if he assumed the boy wouldn't notice something was going on between his sister and the student he'd faithfully followed. Gavroche was clever, brighter than most and very attentive to his surroundings. He'd obviously be able to put two and two together and notice the pair was at least somewhat enamored of each other. But explaining that Enjolras had asked for his sister's hand in marriage, and that soon enough, they too would be family...he felt that was his responsibility. Perhaps the boy would take it better coming from Eponine, but Enjolras had to try.
After dinner, when Gavroche had scampered off to the room they'd given him near theirs (when had he begun to think of it as 'their' room?), Enjolras took a deep, steadying breath. He gave Eponine a look that simply said he was about to face certain doom and then headed up stairs, at a much slower pace.
The kid was adaptable. He'd settle well in Lawrence just as soon as he learned the language. This wouldn't be the biggest life change he'd ever faced, after all. Compared to dying in a battle he was much too young for, turning up several hundred years in the future in a cemetery in Kansas, and finding out the world around them was full of magic and demons and things, learning of his sister's engagement to a revolutionary would be nothing. That didn't mean Enjolras wasn't nervous. Eponine was special, and no one knew it like he and Gavroche. And, as a brother, even a much younger one, Gavroche was likely to be protective. Wanting only the best for his big sister.
What if Enjolras wasn't enough?
He paused outside the door, releasing one last long breath before knocking lightly on the door.
"Gavroche?" he called, switching easily to his native French. "Might I have a few minutes of your time?"
