They had kissed before, but Alex had never truly felt it, more like a taunting hint of what could have been. Now she could feel it, actually feel and taste and smell, and Hal was a good kisser, surprisingly good, considering how up tight he could often be.
And that smile, that smile was pretty damn cute too.
Of course he was still thinking too much though. And Alex couldn't help but smile as her arms moved to wrap around him, feeling the heat of his body, or maybe it was the heat of hers, or both, it didn't matter, she could feel him.
"You, shut it." She playfully pointed a finger for emphasis. "Yes, we're going to have to get used to it, and yes, there's still stuff for us to work out, but later, okay? Later, we'll deal. Right now, I'm alive, we're alive, we're human and you need to stop over thinking everything and just enjoy this moment. I can have food, and I can finally take this stupid dress off and you need to be kissing me again, right the fuck now, because I am alive."
