Who: Marian Locksley and the little Lord Locksley What: Get your butt back here, young man! (Or: Sneek peeks into Marian's future) When: Backdated a bit to just after little Robin ran off Where: The woods near the Locksley house Warnings: Psh, adorableness?
She was up early, as usual, when she heard the front door slam. At first, she hadn't thought anything of it. Perhaps Much was just up and about already. Or Rogue. Or Robin, though if he'd left the house without at least telling her good morning, she'd be more than a bit worried. But as she ate her oatmeal and pulled out her phone, she saw what was going on. And she saw the tiny runaway that had once been her husband. Or, she supposed in his eyes, would someday be her husband.
Well. That was awkward.
He said he'd found the woods and that would lead him towards home. It wouldn't, of course. This was home now. But how was a child supposed to understand that? Based on his image, she placed him at about nine years old. She'd been little more than a baby at the time. Already, they'd been betrothed. His father was either gone or didn't have much longer to live. And her mother... Well. Weren't their lives always complicated?
When she'd been just a bit younger than the age Robin was then, she'd followed he and Much into the forest. More often than not, they outran her but sometimes, just sometimes, she'd managed to track them. It was those skills she'd picked up that she was employing now as she tracked the small version of her husband. He was from a whole other century. He wouldn't survive out there long. Well. Actually, it was Robin of Locksley and if anyone could survive it was him. Just the same, she'd prefer he be safe in a world he knew nothing about.
"Robin?" she called, nearing the area where Much had built the treehouse. It would be just like him to find it and hide there. When she got no answer, she tried another tactic. "Lord Locksley?" She paused, then, standing still. Listening. It was, after all, the number one trick to tracking.
