Regina had begrudgingly gone to bed at an early hour. Princesses needed their beauty sleep her mother had said. They were entertaining nobles from a nearby kingdom starting the next day. And her mother wanted her well rested and properly dressed when they arrived. The young princess was less enthused about their intended house guests. She may have been only ten summers old but she knew the purpose for this visit. Forging an alliance with them the way most alliances were done. An arranged marriage. Oh joy. A future marriage was the farthest thing from her mind. The young princess tugged at the covers in an attempt to block out the sunlight. It was hitting her face and all she wanted was to sleep awhile longer. Her mother would send her maid to make sure she was awake when the sun was higher in the sky. Almost instantaneously she shot up in what she thought was her bed. The sun shouldn't have shown so brightly in her room if it was as early as she'd assumed. No, it was much later in the day and her mother was going to be furious. And the very last thing she wanted was to give Cora any reason to be disappointed in her. Her brow furrowed in confusion when she realized this wasn't her bed. Or her room for that matter. Nothing in here looked familiar. When she felt the bed shift beside her she turned and let out a startled scream. Pulling the covers around her to protect her from this strange man. Things were strange in Lawrence. In his time there, House had figured that much out. There was really never anything normal about the place, and somehow the opposite of normal had become the norm, even for him. He had long since given up rationalizing explanations about the strange occurrences here, just accepted that Lawrence was simply weird. He and Regina had been discussing the newest burst of strange last night. Everyone around town seemed to suddenly be turning into kids and it was just something he hoped didn't happen to him. Or Regina, for that matter. His childhood was something he'd rather forget all together and Regina being a child? Well, that was just something he didn't think he could handle at all. The scream coming from beside him pierced straight through his sleepy haze and jerked him wide awake. "What the hell?" he looked around and instead of Regina, he was greeted with... a child. A screaming child. Reaching behind her Regina threw one and then another pillow at his head. When she'd gone to bed the night before she was in her own quarters, her own bed, in her families estate. How had she gone from that to this? "You, you kidnapped me! You take me home right now. I command you to do so." For once paying attention to how her mother gave orders was paying off. Mother. No, no, no, no. Regina shook her head and began screaming some more. Cora would be furious to find her gone. She'd punish those who dared kidnap her daughter but the fact remained Regina would still be punished herself. "Take me home now strange man!" "Whoa!" House managed to duck the first pillow, but the second one hit him right in the face. "Would you stop for two seconds?! I did not kidnap you! You- are you Regina?" he asked suddenly, eyeing her almost suspiciously. With all the screaming coming from the other room, Katherine had grown concerned and rushed to the bedroom her best friend shared with her cranky doctor. "What's going o- oh." Her eyes widened at the tiny princess in Regina's bed. She bit back a snicker when House was beamed in the face with a pillow. "Sweetie? Can you stop screaming and let us explain what's going on?" "No!" Regina yelled tugging on all the blankets covering the bed. Hoping that by doing so she could knock him off the bed. Hitting him with pillows didn't seem to be working since he was still there. The princess knew if she wanted to get him out she'd have to make a more concerted effort without dropping the blankets from around her. "Why would you not know my name seeing as you kidnapped me! Mother is going to be furious and you can't hide from her!" When the door had opened Regina gathered all of her strength and tugged the bedding all to her. Scrambling to her feet she moved away from the both of them. It was fine when it was the grumpy-strange looking man. But now there was a woman here and she was being so nice. Not good. Not good at all. "You kidnapped me, that's what is going on! And my name is Princess Regina!" Her title was hardly used - most called her Lady Regina or miss - but at the moment she didn't care. The longer she was away from home the more furious Cora would be. |
