His tone was difficult to read, even for her, but the answer was all she needed. She nudged the door open with her hip and took in the sight in front of her. It broke her heart and there was nothing she could do. Thor had dealt with issues of the heart before. She'd watched as he'd fallen for the mortal girl, Jane, and lost her. She'd seen how he'd missed her, trying to pretend he didn't. But her eldest had always been more driven emotionally. Thor was the son more likely to let his heart rule than his head.
Loki, though... Loki was her little thinker. He ruled with his head, he didn't let emotions overtake logical thought. To see him so utterly heartbroken was something she wasn't prepared for. She took a moment to watch him before joining him at the edge of the bed. She set the tray on his nightstand and reached to gently rub his arm.
"You need to eat," she chided softly. Though she certainly didn't blame him for not wanting to. "You'll make yourself sick this way." She doubted he cared, honestly. But she did. She absolutely did. Losing him wasn't an option. Not to this, not to his own anger or fear or hate or... She just couldn't lose him, that was all.
