Clinging to the conversation about their youngest brother, Kol blatantly ignored the first part of Elijah's comments. "I don't think it's really set in yet. And... I think most of what he wants is much simpler than anything modern can give him. He's made such a big switch in time. We got to grow with the world, he was just thrust into all the modernness of it all and it's probably incredibly overwhelming for him." He shrugged a bit, "And he's still learning English. It's not exactly the easiest language to learn, and I think that's part of why he's still so reserved, from everyone else. He can't understand them nor can they, him. It's got to be rather unnerving."
Knowing he wouldn't get to ignore the heart of Elijah's question, though, Kol rocked back on the heel of his sneakers and spun in a half-circle before he started walking again, back towards the stables where Elijah had originally been headed before he'd interrupted him. "A lot of things," he said honestly, not sure entirely where to begin. "Ruby, for one." seemed as good a place as any to start.
