The challenging tone did nothing to deter him, in fact it only gave him more determination to prove the elder Mikaelson wrong. Kol straightened up to his full height, looked Elijah straight in the eye and spoke quite clearly as he said, "I assure you, brother, I'm fine." But then, if his siblings did not know every mannerism, every tell that he had, who would? So he didn't truly expect Elijah to back down on the subject.
