Who:Lois and Kon
What:Being good is boring. Maybe shenanigans!
When:backdated to yesterday.
Where:Aroounnd
Warnings:TBA

Kon was trying the whole being good thing. The not rushing into more trouble than he could really handle deal, but it was boring. He was bored beyond belief. He never knew how difficult it'd be to live a normal life. This was normal wasn't it? Wake up in the morning, breakfast, part time job, and then home again to do the fooding and sleeping all over again? Wash, rinse, repeat. Why did it almost feel fake to him?

He was a little reluctant to go meet Lois at the paper after having been fired, but just maybe he'd find a way to shove some cat food in his former bosses drawer or something. Liven the place up a bit, invite all the neighborhood cats to the office. So maybe he was a little bitter about being let go, but he'd only been trying to keep the world from falling apart. Sue him for not showing up to his shift after a week of all nighters full of natural disasters and otherwise. It happened in school too. He'd vanish to save the world and end up with detention for being tardy. Sometimes having powers really just sucked.

So he thumbed over the container of cat food as he wandered into the building. Nobody even seemed to notice him. So nice being missed. At first he thought of just going straight to Lois's desk, maybe this wasn't such a hot idea-but then he scoffed and tossed the small can into his hand with a roll of hi eyes and headed toward his former bosses office. Using his x-ray vision to make sure nobody was inside, he slipped in carefully. Then he held up the canister of tuna fish and poked holes in it with heat vision, slipping it into the man's drawer, and under several stacks of messy folders so it couldn't be easily seen where the smell was coming from. Wandering toward the window to open it he kept an open ear for any noises that indicated someone was coming. Only twice did he freeze at the idea that he'd get caught. Super powers were sometimes awesome for pranks. If he didn't do this, what kind of super was he.

He snuck out of the Max's office just as carefully as he'd snuck in, and looked around for Lois. He tried to put his best innocent face on.

Lois has seen Kon go into Max's office, she also had seen him come out looking entirely too innocent. That face meant trouble. But well, it was time for her to leave so whatever trouble he had seen fit to start could be learned about on Monday. It was the weekend and she meant to enjoy it.

She grabbed her coat and purse and headed over to him, nodding toward the exit. "Do I want to know what you were doing? Because we both know you were up to something."

She nodded her goodbyes to people as they walked by, her intensity making it clear that she wasn't in any mood for any of them to stop her and try to chat. She loved her work, she did, but it wasn't the same without Clark and Kon. She missed them being in the office too. And she knew Jerry did as well. Even Max did but it had gotten to a point where he couldn't justify them being around anymore. Not with how many days they missed.

It just sucked.

But enough of that. It was time to do the arcade. "Are you sure you're up for Krypto destroying your place while I kick your ass at some games?"

He shrugged a little. "Hope Max likes cats." And gave her that same innocent look that meant it was probably better not to ask anything else. It was a fairly harmless prank this time, but if it went over well there may in fact be many many more in his future. The idea brought a spark to his eyes. He needed to pick at something, he'd been trying to be good for Tim and Cassie too long now without anything to occupy himself with. He was getting restless. A good prank was just what he needed. Or ten maybe. Besides, nobody would really get into too much trouble. How many cats could it really attract? He'd never actually tried it.

Kon hated working at the deli even if the manager was nice enough. The man owed him even though Kon insisted he didn't. Every time he still said he did. Kon needed the money, and Krypto needed to be fed. He couldn't turn down the work since he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life beyond photography yet. He and the dog still needed to eat, plus a bonus he worked with food. He got to take a meal home from his shift sometimes. He could eat a lot, it was hard on his paychecks without it.

"Connor's gonna watch him, incentive to it being his room too. But I'm so gonna win." He'd been happier lately, seemed a little lighter since the photoshoot with Tim and the others. But he hadn't said much about how they went just yet. part of him liked the secrecy, and the other had no clue how others would react to it. Namely Lois or Clark.

"Tim's over there anyway I think. I managed to get him out of the cave but I gota bring back pizza." And then there was Cassie, oh god how was he even going to try to tell Cassie? "How much trouble could he get in between both of them?" Did he really want to know?

Lois laughed, already imaginging the trouble that dog could cause the other two guys. Krypto could cause a number of problems if he was really in the mood. Hopefully he would accept he got their attention and enjoy that instead of causing a ruckus because he wasn’t with his family. She’d make sure to spend some time with the dog after the arcade.

“Kon Kon Kon. We both know there is little you can do to thwart my win here,” she told him, grinning as they headed down the stairs. No point in waiting for the elevator. Knowing their luck it would get stuck and enjoying a carefree evening at the arcade would be ruined.

“So Tim is out of the cave and you are looking pretty damn cheerful. So is this a coincidence or are they related?” She had a feeling they were at least slightly related. No matter what the circumstances though, Lois was just pleased to see a happy Kon. It had been entirely too long since he’d really been able to smile.

It had been a long time for a lot of them to really be able to. Some still couldn’t but healing took time.

Kon knew all the trouble Krypto could cause, but really he was trying to be more optimistic. He knew Krypto liked Connor, but he also knew what a pain in the ass the white lab could be if he wanted something. They were kinda similar in that regard at least.

He shoved his hands in his pockets and gave her a side long glance. "At least you'll be an actual challenge. I took Clark to the arcade last week. The last time he played anything Mario was still new." He snickered. Not that Mario wasn't a good game, but it wasn't an arcade game. "He was pretty good at the one with the gun though. He thought I was just gonna let him watch me play games." It'd taken a pretty good long while to convince Clark to play anything, but it was worth it. They'd both been able to spend one afternoon together without a single disaster getting in the way. Honestly Kon couldn't remember the last time that happened thanks to his powers, or whatever apocalyptic disaster Lucifer threw at them. There really hadn't been a lot of time to just have fun. He missed it.

"Well.." He looked over at her with a tiny smile and shrugged. "The photo contest is coming along now too. Might actually have some inspiration for it.." Namely Tim. While he couldn't really use people for the contest if he hoped to win, it'd helped more then he could have imagined.

"Maybe Tim too." He looked away from her sheepishly and down at the ground as they walked as though it was suddenly very interesting.
