What: Belle translates grumpy worried Dark One professionally.
Where: Their house
When: 31st afternoon
Status: In Progress:
Belle knew exactly how nervous her true love was. He did this now and again, retreated into his comfort zone. And alright so it was quite the profitable comfort zone but he had been spinning now for four hours while she'd gone shopping, still entirely enamoured with the fashions of this world. But she'd come back to find he hadn't moved and she was having none of it. She'd let him have his time, spinning to forget, he'd told her once, back in the Dark Castle when he was trying to convince himself he didn't care for her, when she had been trying to convince herself of the same. But four hours spinning out of nervousness was just enough for her and so she'd not bothered to knock, going in to him with a cup of tea for them both. He was nervous, Bae was here, it was all he might have wanted, but he was nervous about how his boy would react to him, about Henry, herself all of it. Bae hated magic, always had, always would. And Rumple, even now, even with her, was still far too used to it, far too reliant on it. Belle had come to accept it about him so long as he wasn't using it for revenge, to hurt people, or for deals. She didn't want to change him entirely from the man who had stolen her heart.
...which alright, when you were in love with the Dark One was probably not the best turn of phrase but did bring a smile to her face as she entered the little study where she'd left him all those hours ago
"You know I think we can actually afford a castle now. Pity we're in Kansas" she commented, walking across to place the tea cup near him and perch herself on the little table nearby. "You could take a break you know, actually get out and do something, maybe even with Baelfire?" she added "I know you're worried, you know that right? You can hide your feelings from the world, put a mask on to anyone and everyone, but not to me. But you're his father, and this place is full of second chances. He's willing, all you have to do is let yourself try." She wondered if to most she sounded preachy when she got like this but she had always been this way with him, why would she change it now?
"For now though, just sit with me, we haven't had tea like this in a while, have we? I've missed it."
