No one had warned Tahiri about just how uncomfortable being pregnant could be. She was part Vong, pain meant nothing to her, she even enjoyed it, but being pregnant was so completely different to anything she had experienced before. Her muscles just ached, and sometimes her limbs were all tingling or numb, which was incredibly disconcerting. And she missed coffee, oh how she missed it. One cup in the day was not enough, and Jacen had to be all smug about his continued drinking of the wonderful substance. Admittedly he had made a very good point about how the general suffering of the world would probably increase if he gave up the caffeine, but that didn't stop Tahiri looking longingly at his mug while sipping at her own herbal tea.

Sometimes she found herself staring at her changing body in the mirror with a sense of bewilderment. The bump was impossible to hide now, and she lived permanently in the most comfortable clothes she could find. She had seen pictures of pregnant women wearing things like fancy dresses and high heels and just thought such things were bizarre. Why make yourself suffer like that if you didn't have to?

One thing she refused to give up was her exercise regime, though she had grudgingly adapted it as her body needed her to. Gone were the vigorous martial arts sessions, instead she focused on things like yoga or Tai Chi. It was during one such stretch that she felt something actually move inside her, and Tahiri yelped with surprise, losing her balance momentarily. For a moment she just stood there, confused, before she pressed her hand against her bump and waited. Sure enough, moments later, she felt it again, a distinctive movement that pressed against her hand. They were kicking. The babies were actually kicking.

Tahiri laughed, out loud, despite standing in the room on her own, and kept her hand there, giggling every time she felt a flutter of movement. Moments passed before she decided to grab her phone, sending Jacen a text. 'Stop what you're doing and get up here now!'

Despite the words giving nothing away, Tahiri's presence in the Force was completely open, and she was practically bouncing, her excitement coming through clearly.

When he'd gotten the text Jacen had jumped probably more than a mile, teasing him like that was cruel but very Tahiri. Searching for her in the Force though he knew she was safe, his danger sense giving nothing away, she was safe and so were the two little presences he could sense within her. And so he stopped what he was doing, or paused it, carrying the mug of coffee with him but putting the book down. It counted as stopping what he was doing.

Taking the stairs quickly, Jacen didn't take long before he stood in the doorway of the room watching her. Her hand was on her stomach and she was actually giggling. And Tahiri Veila generally didn't giggle.

"What're they doing?" he asked, moving across the room and wrapping Tahiri in his arms, his hands resting near hers on the bump. He suspected he knew what this was, but all the same when it happened, he hadn't expected how this would feel, having missed out on it of course with Allana. He hadn't done any of this, hadn't gotten to experiance any of it. But with these babies he would.

"You're sure they're not aliens?" he asked her amused, trailing kisses along her neck. "Because even tiny not quite cooked people should be able to do that with their limbs"

Tahiri leaned against him with a smile, shifting her hand to actually lace her fingers through his, still pressed against the bump. "I think technically they are aliens, I mean it's not like we're from this world. Different planets entirely. Though," she frowned, just a little, in confusion. "They'll be born here, so maybe that doesn't make them aliens. How does that even work?"

The babies moved again and once again Tahiri couldn't help but giggle. "This feels so weird, it's like they're squirming in there! It kind of tickles!" Weird, but exciting. Oh, it had all felt real for a while, the two babies each had a distinct presence in the Force, she could feel them as much as she could feel her body changing. But to physically feel them move, that was new. They were going to be babies, tiny wriggling babies.

Tahiri glanced at the mug of coffee, sniffing it longingly before pointedly looking away from it with a faint pout. Though she did lean her head to give him better access to her neck, because it felt so very good, and frankly she deserved it. "We still have so much to actually sort out before they get here. Apparently Ginger wants to do something called a baby shower. I don't really get what that is, but she says there's presents involved."

"We're the same basic genetic makeup" he mused, still utterly amazed every time the babies moved inside her. He suspected they were fighting. More than that he suspected he and Jaina had been just as bad if not worse. He would always feel awful that his sister didn't get to meet them. Didn't get to know these children but she had died here, and Jacen had to believe that meant she had gone home, back to live out a life that would lead her to Shedu Maad. To their final meeting.

But there was no sense in dwelling, not even he, with all his power could change it.

"They're showing off, or fighting. Maybe both. Either way they're definitely Solo children." he told her leading her across to the couch to massage her neck, she really did deserve it, he had never seen this part before, the aches, the pains, all of it. He'd just been presented with a child that was his.

"Baby shower. Do they shower you? Is it a weird earth thing? Do I have to do anything? Or do we just go there and you get given presents? I'm gonna assume its showering with affection rather than some cleansing ritual but who the kriff knows with the people round here?"

"Admittedly, that is true," Tahiri pondered the idea, after all, they were what their galaxy described as 'human', even with coming from different planets themselves. Regardless, that was annoyingly complicated and ultimately irrelevant to think about anyway. Their babies would be born on Earth, in this world, that was what mattered.

She let him lead her over and groaned slightly with the satisfaction of feeling him massage her neck. There were times when everything in her body ached. If it had been pain, then fine, she could have handled that, but the general aching was much harder to deal with. And Jacen's hands were so skilled at finding just where the tension was. "That feels good." Her voice was barely above a murmur as her eyes drifted closed.

"Oh, probably showing off with the fighting. They're getting started early, we're clearly doomed," Tahiri smirked. "Taking after their father, I'm obviously the innocent and utterly well-behaved parent here." She couldn't help but compare the twins growing inside her to the twins she had all but grown up with, Jacen and Jaina, at one time so close and forced apart by circumstances and mistakes. She missed Jaina, not as intensely as she knew Jacen did, but still quite a lot. Tahiri still planned to honor her friend with her child, to call the girl Jayna in memory of her aunt.

She frowned with some confusion. "You don't really think there could be a literal shower part to this, do you? Because that would be weird. I just got told presents, which I assume is presents for the babies. Probably. Right? Maybe we should research this."

Jacen had to admit he would be amused if they had twins anything like he and Jaina had been as kids. traumatised probably, but amused. "Difference is we'll be there for them, every day. We'll be based here, we won't drag them all over. Maybe they'll have the stability we never did." Oh he didn't blame Han and Leia for it, not really. But it had had an effect, he knew that too. Probably more on Anakin, as close as they all were he had been seperate from the bond the twins had shared.

"We'll need to send them to school, and train them as Force Users, and they'll grow up knowing this world can't know what they are, and that will be hard. But they'll have us. Both of us, from the start, even if I have to rip the seal apart to ensure it keeps us here."

Better thoughts though. The shower thing. Which was weird but involved baby presents.

"Anyway, having thought about this shower, if there's a literal shower part I could probably persuade myself to deal with it. Because I'm nice like that. Gentlemanly even. Mostly though I think it involves women going bug crazy over your bump and talking about baby things so I'll do what I'm told men do on Earth when this happens and hide."

It was true. While these twins would be raised with parents who were fighters, who defended the world against the monsters that threatened it, they were at least limited to the single world. And there were enough other people around as well that Jacen and Tahiri would be able to put their family first.

"It'll help that they won't be the only ones in this situation," her voice was softened by how comfortable she was feeling, leaning against him. "Emily Winchester, learning to control being the child of the demon, Aislinn Swan is a daughter of magic. Even Robin and Marian's child is going to have to deal with not admitting to having Earth legends for parents." No other twins would be quite like theirs, inevitably powerful Force users, but they'd have support and a lot of it.

"You don't need to rip the seal apart," Tahiri glanced up with a faint smirk. "I'm a pregnant Sith with Vong tendencies, it wouldn't dare part us now."

She couldn't help it, she actually giggled. "Oh really, you'd be the kind of gentleman to deal with me being literally showered? Because I'm sure I can find some example of it being a tradition somewhere, you, me, a hot shower." Actually, that did sound really really good. "So you'll be going down the traditional male route of hiding, I see. Very brave of you, dear."
