Rebekah/Klaus
This trick again. So, Nik wasn't exactly following the script as before, was starting out with the direct authority he had always had, rather than the false attempts at reassurance. Maybe it was the lack of emotions she had, the Cage could tell, could tell that her heart didn't yearn for his love any more, just went straight for the kill.
So to speak.
"Why would I want to be near you?" Her voice seemed weaker than usual, or maybe that was just to her ears. Gradually, she found the strength to haul herself to her feet, eying her 'brother' warily. And why not, all he ever caused her was pain anyway.
"Seems the much healthier option would be to run from you. Makes a lot of sense really, if you think about it. More practical." Less painful. Less chance of feeling his fingers tearing into her chest, ripping out her heart, having the day reset over again. Rebekah folded her arms tightly around herself, taking another couple of steps back, away from him, away from people as much as possible. If they weren't close, they couldn't hurt her, it was a simple logic but one that seemed appropriate for the moment.
