Sam/Ruby
Maybe she should have been wary on some level. Maybe she should have thought more about why he was being so cold. But Ruby knew hell. Not where he had been maybe but she knew how much it could get to you. Get inside you. No wonder he was having a hard time readjusting. The things Lucifer must have done, it was a wonder he retained his mind at all. She had her husband back. She had the very love of her life back with her and that was the important thing.
They could be a family again, them, Emily, Dean and Jules, Bobby, Jo and her girls, much as Ruby still worried about just how harsh Jo had been with Emily Lambert. It was family of a sort and it mattered to her.
The kiss didn't feel like Sam but that would come with time, she knew that. And so she stepped back when he did and looked around. "That's the thing. It wasn't just you and Dean, there were more that fell when you did, wrong place wrong time mostly. They got taken into the cage and I don't know what kind of things they went through but at least you weren't alone down there, right? I mean..." What did she mean? She didn't know what to say to make him feel better, any of them really.
"Bobby has Emily. She'll want to see you, they both will. Your daughter has missed you Sam."
