Parker
Parker had been pulled into the cage when a demon had grabbed her by the rope (having just come down from a tree at the time). So she did not expect to basically be taunted with memories of every job Leverage Inc has pulled over the years: everything from the fiddle game in Memphis (where she had flirted to swipe concerts tickets) to everything in Nate's quest for revenge. Everything she had done as a thief (in spite of turning white hat) had also burned in front of her just as quickly.
But what turned the emotional tide for the women who usually did not fear (because after all rooftops are among some of her favorite places? A few rounds of having to kill was only the beginning of her spiral into a much darker woman.
No, the real kicker was being told and proved that nobody cared. The crew did not care and nobody in Lawrence cared either. What was left of her already fragile self worth was broken into a million tiny pieces and she might never recover totally (unless somebody proved her wrong and that she does count and mean something). But in the end as she suffered through round after round of the cage only one thing was for sure: for the woman known simply as Parker she was alone and deserved every second of this and deserved to feel like a complete waste. She would be ice, shutting down her emotions since she did not deserve to feel either (ironic since not many knew one of her many secrets: the time she was cold read by Dalton Rand and had her brother's death blasted open lead to her crying in the team office after running till she was sick, she could still smell the vomit even now). She kept sending one statement over and over through her battled and tattered mind and shattered soul,"I deserve this, nobody cares after all." To her mind it was all useless and she was just as useless on every level, she was now as damaged as she felt and as the pain of hell blasted on she was just more sure by the second she deserved it.
