He didn't exactly know where he went from joking around (a bit, because he wouldn't have said no if she'd dropped her pants) to being serious about wanting to see her ass to being here at a bar having drinks with Buffy. Not that this was the first time he was at a bar having drinks with Buffy. She'd offered it before as a solution to get away from the crazy. He'd appreciated it. If Dean was a deeper thinker, he'd notice Buffy's tendency to show up or text him when he had a heavy mind. As it was, he was concentrating on his burger. Waiting for her to come back from the bar. And it wasn't that he minded spending time with Buffy. He liked her. A lot. He liked being around her. Hopefully she hadn't caught his drunken comment to Needy. About him liking her almost as much as he liked Sam and Bobby. Because for him to say that, even when drunk ... especially, when drunk meant that he was trusting her. A lot. Because despite this whole bullshit going on with Ruby, despite his wariness of his own brother at times, if Dean wanted to think deep thoughts (which he never did and wasn't going to now because this was one fucking good burger) he'd think about intrinsiclly, automatically, his trust went to his brother. He knew that he respected her. It was kind of hard not to. There were moments he wished she'd just shut up about how things went back in her world and her experiance that made him feel like .... not stupid, not lacking ... exactly. He didn't know. It irritated him at times. But at the same time, he respected her. She never made him feel undervalued even with all her experience. He liked her. Liked spending time with her.
Dean didn't genuinely like many people, less with females. Nothing to do with a superiority thing, he just never really got to know the females he spent time with. He liked Jo. And that was pretty much it. Ellen and Missouri ... well, they sort of scared him and threatened violence to his person. It was more fear. The liking Buffy, Needy, and hell, even Lois fricking Lane was different. It seemed like he was considering all three women friends. Still this was very new. Even Jo he didn't hang out with. And he wouldn't mind it all that much if Buffy and him didn't end up having sex later on in the evening. Though he hoped he did. God, he really hoped they did. Because he really hadn't been lying when he said that he found her to be hot. That the fact that she could kick his ass-weird as it was-was kind of sexy too. Dean was attracted to Buffy. Sure he found Needy, Lois, and Jo attractive. He'd have to be blind, and hell even then, he would be able to see they were beautiful women. However, Buffy was the one he was attracted to.
Taking a pull of his beer, he saw her looking for him. He had gone back to order food. Of course. To wait while she'd gone towards the bar. He waved towards her, signaling where he was.
