Kon didn't know how to react most of the time either, so he put on a show. In public trying to remain as he was always, but behind closed doors he was angry. Angry at the world, but mostly himself. It was damned embarrassing that everyone was hovering because of his stupid mistake. The only escape he could find was in Connor's room. Faking sleep just to get out of the line of everyone's worried look. He may not have been able to see them, but he could feel it. He could hear it in the careful way they acted around him and he hated it. He found himself reacting with a short temper, and thus retreating more.
He hadn't been able for quite some time now to soak up sun, so he didn't even want to try much these days. Clark had taken him out a couple times since the injury and each one e reacted the same, no change, pure frustration. Anger.
More and more anger was consuming him. He couldn't be out there helping, and he hated himself for it. He had no one to blame but himself and everyone else around him was suffering for it. "You didn't have to." He was awake, and he heard Clark coming from even behind the door, he didn't have to ask who it was. He knew.
"I'm fine." Automatic response again. And again he felt miserable for it. But what had they expected? What did anyone expect?
It'd been twenty four hours and he wasn't healed, he couldn't see anything at all. He was surrounded in whatever heat lamps Connor had brought from Abby's work, he could vaguely feel them but that was all. They weren't doing much but he didn't have the heart to tell Connor.
"I'm.." He paused, not sure what to say or what he wanted to say anyway.
"Just tired." That was all he could come up with. Mentally and physically tired. He sat up and was wearing one of Connor's hoodies. He always did like bigger ones.
"Hungry." He reached in the direction he thought he smelled the food but missed and went for it again. Once again he failed to mention just how much his eyes stung, but they worried enough. The last thing he was going to do was actually tell anyone else he was in pain as well. He refused.
"Guess my lucks run out." He reached for teh fries again and finally grabbed a handful.
