Iliana Dominick is sunshine personified ([info]wildpowerwitch) wrote in [info]wariscoming,

Who: Iliana Dominick and OTA
What: The Witch Child arrives. She does not like this place
Where: On one of the main streets, deserted for some reason! Windy reason
Rating: Low, she is sunshine and lollipops
Status: In progress

Iliana didn't understand, what was this place, she'd woken up and nearly tripped over with the weight of...of wrong. She didn't know what could possibly be so wrong in the world to make her feel like this and she didn't know how to fix it. All the lost Harman knew was that nature was screaming out at her. It sensed in her, as she'd been learning to interpret, someone who could help. Someone connected to the wild and the primal powers. Which was ironic really since she'd found out about her wild and primal powers in a mall.

This world was broken. That much was clear to Illiana as she started to walk through the streets trying to find some sign of where she was, It wasn't Greensboro. It was nowhere familar to her and she didn't know what any of it meant. Was this part of the training or gods maybe, was this the war. She hoped not, she didn't feel ready, Wild Power or not, for what they said she would have to face. She wanted to train more, to talk to people like Hannah and Thierry. To really understand more about the world and her place in it. But maybe this actually was training.

If it was training then she'd have to do it, there were no two ways about it. So, figure out where she was, what was going on, figure out how to get back to Circle Daybreak and then kick whoever came up with this idea in the shins. Okay maybe not, that would be mean. She'd leave them out of her next batch of cookies. Okay that was also mean. Well she'd glare. Maybe. She'd make Keller glare.

Iliana started to walk, trying to figure out signs, nothing mystical really, just where she was.

And that was when it overwhelmed her. Nature powerful, deadly but out of balance, controlled by an external force. It was wrong. It was vile.

The witch stumbled against the wind sliding against the nearest wall. This was horrible. This wasn't Thierry or Hannah. They would never send her here.

Lily Luna had never experienced a tornado before. They just didn't happen in Britain, even when Voldemort had been around and the Death Eaters had attacked in vile swarms, they hadn't taken the forms of tornadoes like this. When the sirens had first gone off, the witch wasn't ashamed to say she had jumped suddenly and hadn't known what to do for a while.

But then the answer had been obvious.

She had to help people.

Well, she was a Potter and a Hufflepuff, it was her thing.

Fortunately walking was not a thing she needed to do. Apparating was a much more efficient way to get around, dodging and moving as she needed to to get out of the path of the storm. Really, given the circumstances, appearing out of thin air in front of muggles wasn't her biggest priority. Besides, in this town, they had probably seen worse and found ways to rationalize it. They always did.

Lily appeared on one street and saw the blonde girl leaning against the wall, seemingly confused and disorientated.

"Hey!" Lily waved to get her attention, bracing herself against the wind as she hurried over. "We need to get you out of here." She had to raise her voice to be heard. "My name's Lily and I need you to trust me right now, can you do that?"

Iliana looked up eyes franticly searching the place for something, anything that would make sense of just how bad the storm was raging. And suddenly before her eyes a girl appeared. Redheaded and waving at her and telling her they needed to get her out. Iliana wanted to believe her, she really did. But after the dragon taking the form of her friend...

This girl wasn't Jaime though, wasn't Keller or Galen.

"Do you work for Daybreak? Did they send you for me? Why would they send me here, I know I need to be ready for...but gods its horrible here, everythings wrong. I was back in the compound and then I woke up here, on the street and its all just..."

Iliana caught Lily's gaze. The storm raging, the fact she'd appeared out of nowhere all coming together. And finally she nodded. She was the Wild Power. If this was Circle Midnight she would cut her arm. Bring the blue fire, subdue her if she needed to. She wouldn't have the energy to much longer, she was cold, she was tired, and nature was calling out to her in pain.

Keller would kill her for this.

"...please don't be evil okay? I sooo don't want the lecture if you're Midnight?"

"Daybreak?" Lily looked honestly confused at the term, and wondered if she had misheard the girl. And being called Midnight? That was new and different. Clearly this girl was not some local. Really, did the Seal have that bad timing? Harsh.

"Definitely not Midnight," she offered a half smile. "I'm a Hufflepuff. And definitely not evil, I promise."

Which quite possibly meant nothing to the other girl, but Lily had to offer the information, just in case. She simply tried to look reassuring and reached for the blonde's hand, her grip firm but not too tight. "This might help if you close your eyes, this might not be comfortable." No other way to really describe Apparating.

A moment of concentration and she Apparated the pair of them to the safest place she could think of, the house she had been staying in. Besides, there was tea there, and nothing about it looked threatening.

"I'm sorry," she looked apologetic. "I know you probably have so many questions, but you're safe with me, I promise. You just arrived at a really bad time, things are getting a bit crazy here."

She didn't know what they were, was she even a Nightworlder? That had been such a big rule, don't reveal. But then she supposed when the girl had appeared in front of her and transported her away that she was a witch of some kind. But she couldn't have been. And Iliana didn't know what a Hufflepuff was or why it would be something that would make her trust the girl.

The transporting was weird. Like being sucked through a straw and out the other side weird. But when she came to they were in a house, and it was a lot less chaotic than outside. Even though she still had not a clue what was going on or why she was here.

"Yeah I have a habit of that. But look, I'll help with cleanup, whatever needs doing but I really have to get home. There's something coming and I'm one of four people that can stop it, and it has to be all four of us or it won't work. And we don't even know where number 4 IS yet so there's that. But Daybreak need to keep us all close, and I'm guessing wherever I am? Not close?

Lily's face filled with sympathy, and she so wanted to be able to send the girl home and make everything okay again for her. Unfortunately, no one had that kind of power over the Seal. Not even the daughter of Harry and Ginny Potter.

"I'm really sorry, but I don't know how to get you home." She gestured at the sofa before sitting down herself, trying to think how to put into words just what the blonde had gotten herself into. "You've been pulled to another world, so really not close to Daybreak. I'm sorry, I don't even know who or what that is. There's something called the Seal and it's brought a lot of people here, from so many different worlds and times. I'm not from here either, and the year was 2026 when I'm from."

There had to be good news. Something to soften the blow between the information about being in a different world and telling her about the Apocalypse. "If it helps, time isn't passing at home? Sometimes the Seal sends people back, no logic to it, it just happens. And people go home to the exact point in time they left. We know because sometimes the Seal is completely mad and brings them back here again later, it's so confusing. So the thing that's coming in your home, it won't happen without you there. So that's something, right?"

Iliana very nearly fainted again. This girl was from 2026? Was she in 2026. That was so far in the future Iliana didn't know what to think. That was further than Marty McFly had gone. Which was entirely creepyweird and she didn't know how to deal with it. But then she said time wasn't passing at home. Which meant she'd be okay? Which meant at least she could do that? It meant at least she'd get to go back and be who she was supposed to be and save the world.

"Okay well that's...that's good. Cause I gotta tell you, Keller would freaking lose it if she couldn't find me. She's my sister" Well, sister due to a blood ritual but it was more than enough for her. She found she missed her, and Galen too. And Winne, Theirry, Hannah, all of them. All of Daybreak. But there was no point in dwelling, there were good people here. People that could be friends one day.

It came to it that she was stuck here, trapped in time. Which meant that, very simply, she had to find a purpose. She was supposed to be here, fated to be. There was no other explanation for it and so she'd help this world. One Wild Power, mostly untrained, new to her power but maybe, just maybe there was a way to do some good.

"Why are we here? This seal, why did it take me here?"

Siblings, now that was a topic of conversation Lily could understand, and she brightened with a smile. "Oh, my brothers are exactly the same. Especially because I'm the baby of the family, there was even a time when if I was out of their sight for longer than ten minutes, they would freak out." And hadn't that been a fun few months. She loved Jamie and Al, but wow, they could be intensely overprotective. "Brothers and my cousins, for that matter. Big family, love them but they can be a headache!"

Oh, but then the tough question was asked and Lily wasn't sure how to phrase that particular answer. The why part. She wasn't sure how to explain things without terrifying the poor girl.

"Um," she stalled for time, looking awkward. "Well, there's sort of a war going on. Between good and evil. And the Seal beings people here to be part of that war. And it sucks, it really does. I don't know if you've heard of things like Lucifer and demons and stuff, but that's who we're fighting. Trying to save the world."

"Oh that must be just amazing!" she said with a wide grin. "I have enough trouble with just Alex and he's only little! And a bit psychic. It's so freaky!" Gods, Alex, she missed him then, her little brother, Keller, her blood sister, her Mom, all of them. But they wouldn't miss her, that's what Lily had said and she seemed to know what she was talking about. It made a huge difference all round. "Wouldn't change them for the world though would you, not any of them."

A war. Iliana's face fell just for a second before returning to the bubbly grin of a moment ago.

"Well. Then that's what I'm here to do. I'm supposed to help. I'm a witch, I can call on nature, on air, on my ancestors, I can be useful Lily. And maybe if I am when the fight comes back home I'll be more trained. I'll be more ready, what do you think?"

It was the only thing, the only reason, that made even the slightest bit of sense to the young girl. She needed a reason to be here in this strange place and away from her family and friends, away from Daybreak. "I'll do what I can to help you all save this world and then I'll find the other Wil...I'll find my friends and save mine."

Keller's voice in her ear again yelling at her, telling her no matter how nice they were don't tell them you're a WIld Power. They'll use it, hurt you, that was how she expected it to be. If you weren't Daybreak she wouldn't trust you.

And on that, Iliana would disagree but maybe she was right about telling the truth. The Wild Power would stay hidden. For now at least, she could just be a witch, not even a Harman or the Witch Child. Just a regular witch.

"Psychic?!" Lily's eyes widened and she laughed. "My oldest brother might claim to be psychic, but he's really not. I think I would actually go a bit mad if any of them were." She had to smile though, her love for her family clear on her face. "Wouldn't trade any of them at all. Love them to bits, annoying habits and all."

She brightened with interest at hearing Iliana was a witch too. "Magic definitely helps here, and maybe it will help when you're sent home too. I'm not totally sure how that bit works, but I think it makes sense." As much as anything with the Seal ever made sense. Lily had sort of adjusted to the idea that the world she was in was crazy, even by wizard standards, and it was best to just go with it.

"I'm a witch too, which you probably guessed already, the whole Apparating you here thing and all." She drew out her wand, waving it to make some small sparks appear. "It runs in families in my world. Some people are just born with magic, and our school helps us train."

Of course, it was both easier and harder to explain, what with the whole fictional thing. "I don't suppose you've ever heard of Harry Potter, have you?"
