No compulsion allowed!” she teased, lacing their fingers together as she tugged him away from the monument. “And maybe you only have a thousand years to however long the Romans have been around, but I’d say you did pretty good about making your own legend. At least back in our world.” The amount of vampires and other supernatural creatures who quaked in fear at his name was kind of crazy. But there was no denying that Klaus was that boogeyman. He just happened to have sides to him that weren’t feared monster as well.
“You’ve also got the whole holding onto pride thing too.” Which was not always a good thing in her own opinion, but she understood it. “And if we’re going to leave our morals at the door...just...promise me that you won’t let me kill anyone.” Because she had a feeling this evening would involve drinking from the vein and it thrilled her to think about doing that, but she didn’t want to hurt anyone. Definitely didn’t want to kill anyone.
If he could help her stop if she went too far then she’d attempt it. She did have pretty amazing control, but it was still something she worried about because Caroline couldn’t deny that her first kill had been a high she couldn’t quite replicate.
