Nine had been poking around the controls of the TARDIS, trying to see exactly what had been done to her in his apparent absence. He found he was rather okay with the glass floors, didn't mind most of the changes-but some were definitely going to have to go. Still, he didn't have a problem with change. And apparently, the TARDIS didn't either. She seemed a bit cross with him at first, not wanting to respond exactly as he told her to but she was starting to come around again.
It was a bit irritating since to him he'd only just seen her, and now it seemed he had to make her comfortable with him all over again. The Ship acted like he'd been gone quite some time, and that bothered him a little. He tried not to let anything bother him much as far as time went, but it did. Rose was quite a lot older than when he'd last seen her. And then there was Jack, everything about him felt wrong. It didn't matter how many times he tried to push down his time lord senses, it kept coming up red around him and now he knew why thanks to Lucifer. It angered him. Being around him now was going to be quite a bit more difficult. He wasn't sure which angered him more, that Jack didn't just out with it and tell him or that he learned it from the Devil.
The devi who knew he'd burned his own world. Destroyed everything in his path, the more he stared at the TARDIS's console the angrier he became. And then he realized Rose was waiting on him. He took a breath and stepped away. Putting on his patented Cheshire grin, he headed for the library. Nobody knew the TARDIS quit like him or Rose. He was glad or it really. He trusted Rose with her. She'd done brilliantly at making sure she was still in good condition, and one of these days he'd teach her to use her properly. But not today. Today he was far too angry at the world to be teaching anyone anything.
Today he had too much energy and not enough space between him and the world. With every step he took toward the library until he entered he tried to calm himself down. It'd do no good being angry at Rose when it wasn't her fault he'd destroyed the Time Lords.
By the time he entered the library, he looked hopefully a little less manic. At least he was trying for less.
