Sam had right to worry about his brother, because he knew him well. Better than Dean knew himself at times for the fact that there was a lot that Dean would never admit to himself that Sam could spot off right away through habit and familiarity. Dean ached in certain places. He'd had to stop more times than he had wanted during the nine hour and some change trip from South Dakota back to Lawrence. Which was how he'd gotten time to comment on Sam's message post. For the most part, all of his black and blue's were hidden under his clothing. His face was mostly healed. Nothing had really been broken from his .... beat down by Alistair. Things fractured and sprain. Most definitely sprained but nothing broken, nothing that Dean wouldn't-hadn't-grit his teeth through the ride.
Sitting in one place wasn't for him. Especially not with all that was weighing on his mind. Dead Angels. Responsibility for broken seals. Not being good enough. Again. And ... Sam. So much shit going on with Sam. He was tired. He'd fallen asleep a bit in his car, but despite still being tired, sleep was the farthest thing from his mind.
Dean had told his brother that he would mostly spend his time at his usual motel but he found himself instead turning towards the street for the complex. He was hungry. And was betting they had beers there too. Free everything. That was all that was on Dean's mind.
Paige had opened the door for him. A million things showed up on her face but she didn't say anything. He really was relieved that his face was mostly healed because he'd had experience with the woman. He knew that something would have been said. Dean greeted her and then he headed towards the kitchen.
When he got there; however, someone was already there. He wasn't up for interaction at the moment-which thankfully Paige had clued in on-but he really wanted his free food and beer. Clearing his throat, loudly and subtly, he entered. Pausing again when he saw that it was Lois Lane.
"Hey." He said, even though he had already made his presence known before.
