Lauren had spent a large part of her time in this place with Hal, learning the way things were supposed to be. But she had also tried to do the socializing thing with other people, went to that party at Halloween and had fun with it. She decidedly ignored the crazy ghost girl with her delusions because Lauren really did not need all of that drama anyway. Despite her minor attempts, though, Lauren still largely kept to herself. She just hadn't found much of a niche here and she wasn't all that comfortable with the people around. Too guarded. Too accostumed to being used now. She couldn't seem to let herself really be open here. Though, if she were honest, she wasn't so sure she'd be willing to do that anywhere. Here, though, she's aligned herself with someone most people were less than thrilled with and it just felt all too familiar to be cast aside that way.
She had come to this little cafe several times now. Not that she needed food, but it gave her something to fill time with and usually she just ordered coffee or tea and sat and people-watched. Today was no different and she watched as a girl came in, ordered a tea, nose stuck in a book. It was a slightly amusing sight, really. So into her book, she nearly tripped over a chair. "Might want to put it down long enough to get to a table safely, love." she couldn't help the comment slipping out of her mouth, biting back a laugh but she couldn't hold back the smile.
