Kol sat there, a bit dumbfounded at what had just happened. Actually, what had just happened?! He silently, and rather quickly, recounted the conversation in his head. And, okay, "oh" was probably not the best thing to say to something that actually was much more impacting than that. But honestly, Crowley had caught him off guard with that comment, he hadn't expected it at all. And now he'd gone and mucked this up, hadn't he? And more to that, goddammit, he cared. Cared that Crowley was suddenly defensive. Cared enough to internally flail a bit at how to fix it.
"That...sounded... I didn't mean- I mean, I wasn't trying to minimize-" And maybe a little bit outwardly because he was entirely out of his bloody element here and he had no idea how to fix this. "You caught me off guard." he said finally. "I just...I didn't expect..." Why couldn't he form full sentences?! This was ridiculous. "You really waited?"
