She hugged him back, those damn butterflies whirling around in her stomach again as she did so. "I'm glad you're here." She hadn't realized just how much she would have missed him until he was gone. She hadn't expected his death to break her as much as it had done so. But it had, nearly paralyzing her with her own sadness. "I missed you too."
Jane didn't have anything to say about what had happened. It had been a lot to take in, the explosion, the aftermath. She wasn't used to anything like it and her brain was still processing all that had happened. Nearly a year in Lawrence and she was still baffled at times with how horrible it could get for all of them. But it could be beautiful as well, she knew that too.
Friendships could spring up with unsuspected people. It was holding onto those good things that kept her going. "I missed you so much."
