Then they were coming toward him. He blinked his eyes as if making sure they were clear and making sure that what he saw infront of him was real-not just another happy illusion. He didn't have to wonder for long though, within a matter of seconds Marian was taking his hands and her touch felt real. Warmer than those things had in heaven. More substance than he remembered them having. For a strange long while he was quiet. And then finally he spoke. "Yeah..were you expecting Little John?" A hint of amusement on his face. He touched her hands, his own undamaged by fire any longer. Everything in tact via seal magic. Blue eyes met hers warmly as he returned that hug. It wasn't often he got them from her but he had a feeling all that was going to change. "It's me." He couldn't help but to smile.
And then it widened at the sight of Robin. Returning the hug just as tightly as though he were some kind of life line. He'd accepted Death in Heaven, but the one regret he had was not being by his side. That was where he belonged, and he knew it. Not that he'd never known it before, but now he felt it too. Like everything would eventually be all right in his world again because he was back at his best friends side. Everything he knew he'd learned from Robin, everything he'd seen he'd shared wit him. There was no one else he cared about more, no matter what friends he made or where they went. That was where he belonged.
"I'll try not to." Despite his best attempts to keep them at bay, there were beads of moisture that threatened his eyes. So much so that he had to wipe his face with his sleeve to clear them away and look at them both. "I'm okay, now." He was home with them. That was what mattered.
