Katherine Pierce, mentions of Elijah Mikaelson (with permission from Ashley <3!)
Panic, also being turned again
Monday evening, October 14, 2013; Mikaelson Manor
TBD/In Progress

"And...you are certain this is what you want, Katerina?"

Katherine didn't pretend to understand why in the hell Elijah would even offer what he was in light of everything. But she supposed he was right. Unlike you, I keep my word, Katerina. He was, above a lot of things, a man of his word. There were few things in the world one could count on as well as they could count on Elijah Mikaelson upholding any promise he made to someone.

That didn't make her any less nervous, though, as she made her way toward the Mikaelson's home. If she were honest, she was nothing less than a giant ball of nerves over the whole idea. She wasn't sure if they were even all there, but she did know that without doubt in addition to Elijah, Klaus was there. And that was more than enough to put her on edge. But this was for Elijah. To prove to him that she loved him. That she truly wanted to be with him. And most importantly, that she trust him, as she had claimed, with her life.

Of all the things in the world, that was the number one most important thing to her. "Better you die than I." Katherine Pierce was little more than a survivor. Oh, she'd tried her hand at becoming something more, but what else could she be? She'd soon learned it was impossible for her to be any more than she already was. Doomed to a fate as a woman who put herself before others, at any cost. And what a cost she had come to bear now. She lost a trusted friend over her own stupidity, had likely lost the only man who had ever truly loved her above all else. Why on earth he still felt that way toward her after everything she had put him through, she would truly never know.

She walked up the steps to the front door, knowing anyone in that house would already know she was here because hell if she could stop the pounding in her chest that was pumping through her ears louder than a drum. She hesitated, just for a moment, before officially making her presence known.

Elijah answered, thankfully, and led her inside. He was very obviously still upset and rightfully so, of course, but he had promised her this and so he was going to follow through on that promise. There was nothing remotely loving or caring about the meeting, not really. Pain masked by a strictly business attitude. She hated it. It shouldn't have been like this. But she didn't make any objections, just followed his lead. She sat down on the edge of the bed in his room. This certainly should not have been the first time she'd seen it. But here they were...

"And...you are certain this is what you want, Katerina?" his voice came from somewhere behind her, so stiff and cold, hit her like a brick.

"Yes," She nodded slowly, "I'm sure."

"Then so be it." was all he said before he bit into his own wrist and offered it to her and she promptly took it without hesitation, drinking until he deemed it to be enough and pulled his arm away. "I'll see you when you awaken, Katerina." And without hesitation, he reached up and broke her neck.

Katherine awoke an indeterminate amount of time later, jolting upright. She was disoriented, uncertain of where she was or what had happened, but when she blinked her eyes to let them focus to the darkness, she found that she didn't even need to. Everything was so clear, crisper than she remembered. But then she did remember. Elijah. He'd held to his word. He had turned her like she asked.

She could hear mutterings from somewhere else in the house, mumbled voices that she couldn't quite make out. There were noises from outside assaulting her ears and colors around the room were brighter than she had come to know in recent months. The blankets she was surrounded by were too much for her to handle and she was scrambling to her feet out of the bed. Where she likely should have tripped, she was graceful, perfectly landing on her feet. However, not until she stood up and really took in her surroundings in did a few other things finally register.

The house she was in was not her own. No, it was the Mikaelson's. And with that realization brought a rise in fear, but no heartbeat pounded in her chest now, just an intense feeling in the pit of her stomach. Or... no. Maybe that wasn't fear, it was more intense. It was hunger.

"Hello, Katerina." Elijah's soft drawl came from behind her and she spun around. "Calm down, it is only me. You're still in transition. I brought this," he held out a blood bag to her and she snatched it rather greedily from his hands, drinking from it rather desperately.

After a moment she stopped and looked up at him, almost sheepish in manner. "Sorry," she mumbled quietly as she realized how rude that actually had been. "I'm just...so hungry." She'd forgotten what this felt like, everything rushing at her, so overwhelming and new.

"Finish it," he said, "And leave." the words were simple, but they cut like knives. Katherine didn't dispute it, though. She knew she didn't have any right to, so she did as he asked, only stopping to thank him again, but she only received a cold shoulder in return.
