Who:Mal and Simon
When:last night! obvioously before wash came back!
Where:One of the hotels.
Warnings:I don't know yet.
It was exactly as Robin said. Mal found he was angry and had no one to take it out on. No one to blame for the death of his pilot. No one to blame for once again his home being shattered to pieces and torn away from him. No one to blame but himself. So for the last twenty four hours he too had been near silent. Stewing in his anger. Staring down some meaningless television show as though it were at fault for killing Wash. It was a cartoon of some sort. Probably Disney owned, because they all were. In fact on occasion Mal wondered if Disney were to blame for the apocalypse. It was a literal hell on Earth for their band of seal snatched heroes lately and yet Disney remained on tv. Was it to mock him? He decided yes. If it weren't a hotel, god the shooting that would happened of the television would have been epic. But Simon and Claire were there.
Simon was mostly curled up refusing to speak, and lets face it. Mal wasn't really the best motivational speaker to get him to talk either. But all the not-talking really was getting to him. Grating on his nerves like a slow spinning clock. He was used to more conversation than this. Used to more stimulation. Every brightly colored animated bit made him feel like he was slowly going insane. A fate worse than death. If that damn Genie laughed one more time he was going to shoot him in his stupid mouth.
"Someone talk!" He demanded, finally giving up on the silence. At least on the ship there was pointless babble or even the white noise of the engine to cut through it. Tv wasn't enough. He needed voices. "You. stop givin me that gorram sad eye look." He said sternly at Simon. The good doctor might not have seen it, but oh he did. There wasn't much Mal missed. "Ain't your fault. Don't make me beat it into your thick skull."
