It wasn't as though Buffy had a lot of friends anyway in this world, but she still found herself needing a breather. Constant people roaming about was starting to feel suffocating. People she couldn't help, people mourning their losses. Buffy had yet to mourn. There was no time, it was a war. She had yet to sleep either, but fortunately with the help of Addie she felt a little stronger at least. She could probably go a few more days even without it at this rate. Whatever that special tea was she was almost ninety percent sure it was magical or something.
She could practically hear Giles in her head ranting about taking mysterious magical teas from princesses she didn't know. She could nearly even see the disapproving way he'd remove his glasses and rub the bridge of his nose like he smelled something disgusting at her for it too. But Giles wasn't there. Willow wasn't there, Xander wasn't there. She was alone. Standing next to those bodies, she never felt more alone than she did in that single moment.
She was my sister. I was supposed to..There wasn't time for that, she couldn't even do it when looking down at her lifeless form. What kind of sister was she? What kind of slayer was she? She was still standing there. Gripping an axe in one hand and wanting little more than to hold Dawn's hand and never let go with the other. Torn between a world of life and death, that was the reality of the slayer. She'd started to isolate herself lately even more from the Sunny D crew. Faith, Angel, Cordy, all of them were older. All of them had lives that lead away from her. She didn't know what to do. Klaus wasn't wrong, standing there mourning the loss wasn't going to bring the dead back to life. Demons needed stopping, apocalypses needed averting, so why the hell couldn't she move?
