"Oh, shut up." She rolled her eyes at that comment. There was no way she was having any of this. It just wasn't possible. It couldn't be. How could it? Magic? She was pretty sure that was just bloody ridiculous. It had to be something else. Or one of them was mental. That was still on her list of acceptable answers. Particularly if it was Mitchell.
"Fine. Point. But still!" she tossed the cigarette she'd stolen from him to the ground when she was finished with it, putting it out with the toe of her shoe, watching him. He was so...frazzled. It didn't make her feel any better.
She didn't say anything for a long moment, staring at him, studying him really. So maybe they had been a really terribly wrecked sort of fling, but she did know him at least a little. Enough to know when he wasn't joking anymore. Lauren's face fell as what he'd said actually processed. "What do you mean?" was all she could dumbly manage to get out, though.
